Heat pumps and solar panels in the Flemish Ardennes

We also fit charge points and home batteries, and do electrical work to the Belgian wiring code (AREI). Every job starts with a site visit, and the figures are based on your own consumption.

The Flemish Ardennes and the edge of the Leie valley

We set out from Oudenaarde every morning. In the core area we come out on any working day. Further away we group visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays with other appointments nearby, so we do not spend half the day in the van.

What we check on a site visit

We do not quote without a site visit. The installer who will later run the job comes to look first. Within five working days of the visit you get a quote with the calculation attached.

  • Meter cupboard and distribution board

Supply capacity, residual-current devices, earthing and free space for new circuits. We note what an AREI inspection would flag today.

  • Boiler room and emitters

The current boiler, the pipework and what is in the rooms: radiators or underfloor heating. We calculate heat loss room by room so the heat pump is sized right.

  • Roof

Orientation, pitch, shade from trees and chimneys, the state of the tiles. We measure on site with a laser.

  • Where the outdoor unit goes

Distance to the boundary and to the neighbours' bedrooms, noise, condensate drain, wall bracket or plinth.

  • Your consumption

Your annual statement and, with a digital meter, your monthly peaks: the highest quarter-hour of use in each month. Their average sets part of what you pay under the Flemish capacity tariff.

Book a site visit

Four steps. You choose the time; we confirm by email or text.

1Where is the property?

Oudenaarde: core area, any working day.

2What are we coming for?

You can choose more than one; the visit then takes a little longer.

On site we

  • look at the boiler room and pipework
  • estimate heat loss room by room
  • choose a spot for the outdoor unit

Have ready if you can

  • Your last gas or heating-oil statement
  • EPC certificate, if you have one

Length of the visit: about 75 minutes

Grants go through Mijn VerbouwPremie

Some of this work can qualify for a grant from the Flemish government. How much depends on your income, the house and the invoice date, and the rules change often. That is why we quote no amounts here.

After the works we hand you the final invoice, the inspection report, the technical sheets and, for a heat pump, the contractor's certificate: everything you need for the application.

What customers often ask us

Is my house suitable for a heat pump?

That mostly depends on the insulation and on what is in the rooms. In a poorly insulated house with small radiators we sometimes advise insulating first, or a hybrid heat pump next to the existing boiler. You will hear which after the site visit, with the calculation.

How long is the wait for fitting?

We usually fit panels and charge points within six weeks of your go-ahead. A heat pump needs more preparation: allow eight to twelve weeks.

Does a new installation need inspecting?

Yes. A new distribution board or circuit is inspected to the AREI by an approved body before you use it. We arrange the inspection and you get the report.

What does the capacity tariff mean for me?

Since 2023 part of the Flemish grid charge depends on your average monthly peak: the highest quarter-hour of use in each month. A heat pump and a charge point running at the same time push that peak up. We set the charge point so that does not happen.

Do you work outside your area?

Sometimes, for larger projects. Send us a message with your postcode and what you would like fitted.
